Hanbok Handsome

We just got back a few photos of Stephen in his Hanbok (traditional Korean outfits that are worn on special occasions). He was so proud to be in his "special clothes". Although this photo says "4", he will not actually be four until February.

Is he a cutie or what?

The flag and the hanbok were special items that were given to him as a gift from those that cared for him while in Korea..just one more reminder of how much he was loved during his first years of life. We will always treasure them.

Popping back in to say hello!

Okay...enough of the grief from you blog stalkers about how long it has been since we (okay, I) have updated the blog. As Stephen would say "Where'doo go?" Well, we are here and have been doing super..only time has not been on our side. It has been one whirlwind day after another and mounds of stinking laundry to boot. Can anyone relate?

The expression on Stephen's face says it all for the Lucas family...we just need to relax and take it easy for a while.

Dinner with the Edmistens

A few weeks ago (yeah,I am behind..so what?) we went home briefly to visit with some family and friends. We managed to carve out some time with my good friends at the park so Stephen could meet them and get acquainted with their children. It meant so much to finally have him here with everyone and not just pondering what he was doing at that moment in Korea.

Last week we attended the Beulaville Baptist Church where our friends Bartley and Beth are serving as the pastor and the first lady. It was such a blessing to see this fine pastor and his wife in exactly the location that the Lord has called them to..not to mention that it sure is nice to have some familiar faces so close to home.

Just me and my dad..at work. A boy has to learn the ropes, ya know.

Work has been busy lately and last week I found myself having to visit a birthmom out of town. That left me in a pinch, so Stephen spent the day with his dad at the office. The way he loves cars..he was in heaven. He walked around for the first few minutes saying "ba ba,ba ba" which means "car". It is sort of like saying "beep beep". When I returned...he was fast asleep on the floor of Jon's office. Yikes! Even with carpet, the floor of a tire store is GROSS! He must have had a wonderful day.

See..not too much going on at the Lucas house. You haven't missed a thing.

Bibles for Trinidad

I would like to introduce you to the Gilmers. They are a dear family that are serving in Trinidad as missionaries. They used to attend church in the same place we did in Indian Trail. Pat (the mom) was a friend of mine and we attended several bibles studies together. She is a just a peach and I truly miss her wisdom and insight.

Remember the Gilmer family in your prayers as they serve in Trinidad.

Trinidad is a vastly Hindu area and Christians are scarce. The church the Gilmers attend is growing and bibles are hard to come by. We are trying to put God's word in the hands of those who so desperately need to soak it in. Will you pray about how you can help these locals and their quest to study the scriptures?

Currently, we are collecting bibles to send to Trinidad. They can be any version, texture or age appropriateness. They can be new or used. If you feel so lead to donate a bible..please contact me by email. Several groups are visiting in the next few weeks and we can send them much cheaper (mail is costly) with these groups.

We can't always go in to all the world to deliver the Gospel to the nations as it declares we do in Matthew..but we sure can show our support of those who are willing to go. Press on.

The Haircut

We ventured out to get the boys hair trimmed. It was way past time. Stephen was not too sure about the trim, but wanted to sit in the tiny yellow car. He likes yellow, we have learned.

When he found out he was a wee bit too big for the yellow and had to settle for the red one..he was none too pleased. I wish I could say he really enjoyed his first hair style as a Lucas..NOT! He did not like anything about it and made this known. Poor guy...he was terrified of the man trimming his hair and of the clippers.

Nothing a little trip to the park can't fix. I sure do love seeing those eyes once again.

Wilson giving the over the shoulder "do not try this at home" look.

I sure do love seeing these eyes again, too.
